Who Is Precision Painting WI

Although Precision Painting WI is a relatively new business, Painting is nothing new to Precision Painting WI. My name is Matt Chrnelich, Owner and Managing Director of Precision Painting WI, and here is my story:



My Painting Career started in 2011 with College Pro Painting serving as a Job Site Manager. My crew and I were the top performers of the summer, finishing ahead of schedule and receiving the highest ratings of all crews.

As a result of high performance I was promoted to Franchise Manager, where I got to manage my own territory, sell my own projects, and hire/manage my own crews. My territory was Appleton, and for the following two summers I managed 3 crews of painters who completed over 100 houses and received the same high ratings that my crew did while I was a Job-Site Manager- The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree….

I Graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2013 with a Business Degree in Marketing with an emphasis is Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. At this time, I never realized how important that education would turn out to be.

Upon Graduation, I did what I thought I was supposed to do and took a full time job in sales- Salary, commission, benefits… Everything that is supposed to make life “comfortable and easy”. Over the course of the next 7 years, I would move around to different sales jobs because nothing ever felt like quite the right fit. I tried my hand in Distribution, Wine Sales, IT Staffing and finally back to Home Improvement where things felt more familiar.

Fast Forward to April 2020 when the Shutdown began and like many others, my job was furloughed and this was when Precision Painting WI began. I no longer wanted to rely on any other company for my livelihood, I no longer wanted to sell somebody else’s product or service, and I no longer wanted to be expected to high-pressure people into a sale just to make the sale.

In April 2020, I made the decision to bet on myself for my livelihood, sell my own services that I know I can stand behind, and do so at a fair price without sales gimmicks and without pressuring ANY customer to move forward EVER.

Precision Painting WI opened in May of 2020. Without having time to book out work and hire employees, I painted houses by myself the first summer and completed 14 Exterior Jobs. It was a grueling summer, but it got the business up and running. I went from operating the business out of a Ford Explorer with a semi-broken wooden trailer that could hold most of my equipment, to a 12’x6’ enclosed trailer that could fit all my equipment, to a 2019 Ford F-150 that can haul equipment for multiple crews.

In just under 2 years, we now have multiple crews, expanded into 4 additional cities, and are gearing up for our biggest Exterior Season yet. We are growing, we are improving, and Precision Painting WI is here for the long haul. We hope to paint your house soon!
